Recently, we obtained the highest jury verdict ever for an injured employee of the railroad for which he worked — $5.5 million — a verdict that held up on appeal. We also won the first case ever in the United States in which a jury decided that a railroad locomotive design was not crashworthy. This verdict also produced a record-setting amount against another railroad for the engineer victim of this head-on collision.
In 2010 and 2011, Jerry obtained over $50 Million in settlements for employees and retirees in large 401(k) plans asserting claims alleging excessive fees. In addition, non-monetary relief valued at substantially more was obtained in these nationwide class action ERISA 401(k) cases. These settlements have benefitted classes of employees and retirees of Caterpillar, General Dynamics and Bechtel.
